Pumping Systems & Reservoirs

PCS offers numerous types of thermal fluid transfer and storage systems. Two primary types of systems are Closed Loop and Open Loop with Reservoir. Systems are configured specifically to meet the requirements of a particular applications. Criteria considered include:

• Type of Fluid
• Expected Temperature of Fluid
• Optimal System Fluid Volume
• Flow Required
• Pressure at Design Flow
• Appropriate Materials of Construction

Closed Loop (CP Series)

Ideal when the process has a high thermal mass and/or stable load profiles. Systems typically take up less space and often have lower costs. Closed loop systems are also beneficial for limiting the tendency of oxygen to promote corrosion in systems containing steel and/or cast iron components. Primary unique system components include:

• Air separator
• Expansion tank
• Fill system

Open Loop with Reservoir (PT Series)

Necessary where the process has low thermal mass and/or unstable load profiles. Reservoir construction materials include stainless steel, epoxy coated steel, polyethylene and fiberglass.

Common Features (CP and PT Series):

• Pumps (centrifugal, multistage, vertical/horizontal)
• Pump Trim including check valve, suction/discharge isolation valves
• Sensors (Pressure, Tank Level, Flow, Temperature)
• Controls (Independent or System Integrated)
• Electrical Panel and/or Junction Box
